This is a clearly written, easily read paper. The argument is well articulated drawing on documented references. Additional support material from interviewers etc referred to in the abstract* appears to be missing or concealed, method therefore appears as a literature review. Some key references and a little elaboration on mindfulness would be helpful.

* The abstract contains some references (Lyndon, 1998) which are not in the paper bibliography. The abstract alludes to ?interviews? and ?testimonies of makers? which sounds like origianal data but I can?t find this clearly articulated in the paper. There are two references (Meyer, 1922 and Scruggs, A. O., 2004) mentioned in the paper but not included in the bibliography. There is one reference (Lyndon, 2005) not in the paper but in the bibliography. Also (Murphy, 2004) is in the bibliography but not in the paper.

The abstract and paper are not fully compatible. This needs to be resolved

I enjoyed reading this original paper. A definition of ?new-age? in this context is needed to justify its continued use. It occasionally felt as if the term was employed in a derogatory sense. There are also issues of using a holistic model in a reductionist medical system and it is this that forms craft as therapy as apposed to craft as living. The author may also be interested to read Levis Hyde?s ?The Gift?.
