An essentially technical paper that describes a personal journey, and in doing so articulates generic issues. While the argument is not new, the discussion in the context of craft offers new insights. The evaluation is thin, and I would suggest more attention is given to evaluation (i.e. clearly explain how the evaluation has been conducted, what approach was used?). Also greater explanation is required in terms of how the research has extended the technical boundaries of practice in the context of Rapid Prototyping, and what the implications of this are for future practice and research.

It is very informative if a little dense in the mid section of the paper. It tends to get lost in too much CAD talk and strays away from the original thesis, about a personal visual aesthetic emerging from a CAD/CAM process.

Suggested Parallel Track: Aesthetics
