A deeply theoretical paper with an interesting argument. However, the paper needs to be edited and reduced by at least 25%. It would be helpful if the paper was re-structured to include sub-headings (one is insufficient); make clear in an introduction what the aims and objectives are, and close with a conclusion which relates to the aims and objectives.

There is no academic referencing in the paper and as such this needs to be amended. There are also minor errors in the bibliography that need to be resolved, specifically the journal entries.

Needs proper referencing. It is way too long and will not fit the time slot. I can see the intention, but it is obscured by the words. It needs to be more forcussed.

Ultimately the main argument or thesis of the paper needs to be clarified. The clarity could be improved by a consistent use of terms. The author moves between authenticity in the object and discourse often without highlighting the differences and authenticity itself is considered in a very limited way. A fuller exploration of Authenticity that includes for example consideration of intrinsic value in both material and object would be beneficial. The area of semiotics is explored within the discussion of video/installation ceramics however no connection is made between semiotics and craft and whether craft exists in this video environment other than in the artefacts featured. The suggestion that authenticity is constructed in the discourse is a relatively new position and certainly one that merits further debate.
